The Promise of an Angel
by Ruth Reid
This was the first Amish fiction book I have ever read but I was not disappointed! I received this book courtesy of booksneeze.com in return for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this story and finished the 289 page book in a little over two days- I could not put it down! This is the story of Judith Fischer, a 19 year old Amish girl living in Michigan. She has obeyed her parents wish of waiting until she was 19 years old to wed her love, Levi Plank.
When her five year old brother Samuel gets in a tragic acciden, Judith's life is changed. Judith then believes she comes across an angel helping young Sam. Once she tells her family and friends what she has seen, no one believes her, including Levi. This makes her very upset and she feels alone. The man who she believes is an angel gives her some advice concerning faith and she is not sure which direction to follow. And it does not help that the only person who believes Juidth's story is Levi's cousin!
I really enjoy this authors writing style and hope to read more books like this from Ruth. Her story really sucked me in and it caused me to stay awake longer then I had hoped or planned to. I really wanted to finish reading this story to find out what happened to young Judith. I will most definatly read this book again and suggest this great read to others! Thank you booksneeze/Thomas Nelson for providing me with such an awesome read!
